Milbemax Tablets for Cats are small, beef-flavoured all-wormer tablets from Elanco for cats over 2 kg bodyweight. Each tablet contains 16 mg milbemycin oxime and 40 mg praziquantel. Given every three months they treat and control intestinal worms, and given monthly they also prevent heartworm, so one tablet can cover both jobs. This pack contains 2 tablets.
Key benefits
- Treatment and control of adult and immature roundworm (Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina)
- Treatment and control of adult and immature hookworm (Ancylostoma tubaeforme)
- Treatment and control of tapeworm infections (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp.)
- Prevention of heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis) when given monthly
- Can be used in breeding animals, including toms and pregnant and lactating queens
How to use
Give by mouth. Cats over 2–4 kg: ½ tablet. Cats over 4–8 kg: 1 tablet. For cats over 8 kg, give a combination of tablets consistent with the minimum dose of 2 mg milbemycin oxime and 5 mg praziquantel per kg bodyweight. Cats of 2 kg and under need Milbemax Tablets for Small Cats.
For intestinal worms, treat adult cats every 3 months; nursing queens should be treated at the same time as their kittens. For heartworm prevention, give every month, preferably on the same date. Before starting, have your veterinarian confirm by a simple test that your cat does not have heartworm. Watch your cat for several minutes after dosing to make sure the whole dose is eaten, and redose with the full dose if it is not. Not suitable for dogs. Consult a veterinarian before use.
Always read and follow the label directions.
